The Story
Momma passed away September 8th, 2023 after suffering a massive brain bleed not quite two weeks earlier. In that nearly two weeks, our immediate family gathered daily, first in the ICU waiting room before moving onto the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC. We found sharing memories of momma helped pass the day and ease the pain.
It was during those days that I realized I had become the keeper of momma’s stories. I began gathering memories like precious gems washing ashore, rushing to grab each one before it could drift back into my sea of forgetfulness.

It was during those days that I realized I had become the keeper of momma’s stories. I began gathering memories like precious gems washing ashore, rushing to grab each one before it could drift back into my sea of forgetfulness.
As the days passed, one question kept circling in my mind: How do I begin telling everyone about the incredible person she was? Words on pages have never been my thing, but creativity has always been.
While sitting in my craft room, inspiration came naturally—my creativity would be my medium, and This Calls for Confetti would be my outlet. Alice’s Story was born as a way to honor my momma by sharing our memories through carefully curated designs and continuing her legacy of generosity by giving back to the incredible people at the SECU Hospice House.
When you receive an Alice’s Story product, you’ll find a memory from me on the back of the packaging. This ever-growing collection of stories is my way of sharing who my momma was and keeping her spirit alive.
