A little idea that turned into something much bigger.

Hi friends,

One of my favorite parts of designing products is watching an idea grow into something I never expected.

Sometimes it starts with a sketch.

Sometimes it's a conversation.

And sometimes it's me sitting at my craft table thinking...

"There has to be another way to use this."

That's exactly how Pin & Plan Blueprints™ came to life.

Sometimes the Best Ideas Build on Each Other

One of my favorite parts of designing products is that the creative process rarely stops once a product is released.

That's exactly what happened with Pin & Plan.

After we introduced the Pin & Plan Stencil & Die Bundle, I created our first FREE printable designed specifically for it. The printable was laid out to work with the original Pin & Plan composition, so you could simply print it, die cut it, and have a beautifully coordinated card front ready to assemble.

I loved the idea because it meant anyone could download a design, die cut it, and start creating in minutes.

Then, during one of our Thursday LIVEs, Carrie shared a card that made me stop and think.

Instead of following the original Pin & Plan layout, she used the stencil to ink blend a deconstructed version of the design. The same familiar shapes were there—but arranged in a completely different composition.

Now, I already knew the stencil could be used that way.

But seeing her finished card, right after I had been thinking so much about those free printables, connected the dots in a way I hadn't considered before.

I remember sitting there thinking, "If a printable is designed for the original layout... and the stencil can be rearranged into a completely new layout... why can't the die-cut printable pieces be rearranged too?"

That question changed everything.

Suddenly, I wasn't looking at a single printable anymore.

I was looking at a collection of perfectly sized design elements that could be mixed, rearranged, and reimagined into entirely new card layouts.

I headed straight to my craft table, spread out the die-cut pieces from the printable, and started moving them around.

One layout became two.

Two became three.

Three became four.

With each new arrangement, I became more convinced that I wasn't just creating another project idea—I was creating a reusable system.

Today, we're excited to introduce our first four Pin & Plan Blueprints™. Each one uses the exact same die-cut pieces, simply arranged in a different way to inspire a fresh card design.

And the best part?

We're just getting started.

So... How Do the Blueprints Work?

The beauty of the Blueprint System is that once you understand it, you'll know how to use every future Blueprint we release.

It all starts with your Pin & Plan Die.

When you die cut a Pin & Plan panel, each rectangle becomes an individual design element. On the Master Blueprint, every one of those pieces has been assigned a number based on its size.

Those numbers become your key.

Each Blueprint uses the same numbering system, so instead of measuring or wondering which rectangle belongs where, you simply match the numbers.

If the Blueprint shows a 2, grab one of your #2 rectangles.

If it shows a 5, grab one of your #5 pieces.

Since pieces with the same number are identical in size, they can be used interchangeably throughout the layout.

Then Make It Your Own

The Blueprints are exactly that—a blueprint.

We've done the planning for you by showing which pieces work together and how they can be arranged. From there, you get to make it uniquely yours.

Position the pieces with spacing that feels balanced and pleasing to your eye. Add a sentiment wherever it best complements your design. Pop up a few rectangles with foam adhesive, layer embellishments, or even rotate the entire layout if inspiration strikes.

There isn't one "correct" way to assemble a Blueprint.

It's simply a starting point designed to spark your creativity.

The Really Fun Part...

The Blueprints don't care how your pieces were created.

You can start with:

  • An ink-blended background
  • A stamped design
  • Patterned paper
  • One of our FREE Pin & Plan Printables
  • Foiled cardstock
  • Mixed media

Once you've die cut the panel, the Blueprint becomes your guide.

  • The artwork changes.
  • The colors change.
  • The style changes.
  • The spacing can change.

But the Blueprint remains your roadmap.

That's what makes the system so versatile.

"We've done the planning for you. You get to do the creating."

Join Me This Thursday!

I couldn't be more excited to finally share the Pin & Plan Blueprint™ System with you.

During this week's TCFC Thursday LIVE, I'll be introducing our first four Blueprints, walking you through exactly how the system works, sharing tips for getting the most from your Pin & Plan Die, and showing you just how quickly you can create fresh new layouts from the very same pieces.

And because I couldn't introduce Blueprints without giving you something new to create...

🎉 I'll also be sharing a brand-new FREE Pin & Plan Printable!

We'll print it, die cut it, and then use the Blueprints to explore multiple layout possibilities together. I think once you see the system in action, you'll start looking at your Pin & Plan projects in a whole new way.

My hope has always been to create products that continue inspiring you long after you bring them home. I believe the Blueprint System is another step toward that goal—helping you get even more from the supplies you already own while giving you fresh inspiration every time you sit down to craft.

Thank you for being part of this incredible community and for allowing me to dream up ideas like this. I truly can't wait to see where you take them next.

I'll see you Thursday!

Happy crafting,

Lisa
